"Even now when it's not an eclipse, you never want to look at the sun directly", said Davis.

Deskur says although the Southern Tier is not in the path of totality, residents will be able to see the moon cover 75% of the sun during its peak.

The total phase would end at 01:02 PST (on August, 21st) whereas the Penumbral Eclipse would end on 02:04PST (on August 21st).

As the three masses move into alignment, "the earth itself as a solid mass and it's shadow starts to block the light and that part of the moon will get darker". "And you can also download one of the whole U.S. You can download it on card stock and make your own".

A lunar eclipse is either preceded by or followed by solar eclipse, which occurs two weeks on either side.

The complete details of Partial Eclipse of the Moon from Mysuru are given below in Indian Standard Time: Partial Lunar Eclipse on August 7.

An eclipse of the Moon (or lunar eclipse) can only occur at Full Moon, and only if the Moon passes through some portion of Earth's shadow.

Hotels along the 70-mile wide and 3,000-mile-long swath where the solar eclipse will pass through are completely booked and have been for months. Lunar eclipses are easier to see than solar eclipses because they are visible from anywhere on Earth with only the conditions that the eclipse occurs at nighttime and the moon has risen and is visible.

In honor of the event, officials over at the Shreve Memorial Library are hosting an All-American Eclipse Viewing party at the Broadmoor Library in Shreveport. It's the first time in 99 years that such an event has hit the United States.

"You can take your phone and point it into your pinhole projector and take an image of that projection you made of the partial solar eclipse", he told Fox News.

A lunar eclipse happens when the moon is covered by the shadow of the Earth.

The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon, but the moon is 400 times closer to Earth. Total eclipses are special because they allow us to see the outermost layers of the sun, called the chromosphere and the corona.
