UN officially notified of US intention to withdraw from Paris climate pact Someone Leaked a Major Federal Climate Change Report Before Trump and Pruitt Can Cook the Books

The Times reported that according to the draft, the United States' average temperature has been rising drastically since 1980, and the recent decades have marked the warmest temperatures recorded in the past 1,500 years.

The EPA and 12 other agencies have until August 18 to approve of the climate report for public release.

A group of federal scientists leaked a new report containing some of the most drastic and far-reaching evidence of human-caused climate change to the New York Times out of fear the Trump administration would suppress it.

Scientists project that greenhouse gas emissions will contribute to a rise in temperature of the earth's atmosphere of as much as 2 degrees Celsius (or 3.6 Fahrenheit) over this century.

Worldwide, the draft report finds it "extremely likely" that more than half of the global mean temperature increase since 1951 can be linked to human influence. Muzzling science, especially this broad-based report, will underline Trump's devotion to the fossil fuel industry and his willful avoidance of facts.

In June, Trump announced that the USA would withdraw from the agreement reached in Paris in 2015, in which almost 200 countries pledged to reduce emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gases, saying the deal was bad for the country. The assessment is mandated by Congress every four years.

Signs of relentless global climate change are all around us.

Administration officials, including Mr. Pruitt, Energy Secretary Rick Perry and others, routinely have said they believe the climate is changing and that man has had an impact, but they've stopped short of saying humans are the primary driver of global warming.

In an an interview last November with the New York Times Trump said there was "some connectivity" between human actions and climate change, but said he was unsure "if anybody is ever going to really know" for sure.

President Donald Trump has promised to bring back coal mining jobs, extend oil pipelines, and reduce government subsidies for clean energy initiatives and now United States scientists are fighting back. A department of agriculture note from earlier in the year directed employees not to use the phrase "climate change". "And of course it is crucial for scientists to explain this clearly since the level of disinformation emanating from the White House is sky high". But it has not yet received permission for release from the Trump administration, members of which have claimed that climate change can not definitively be linked to greenhouse gas emissions from human activity, the New York Times reported. In its latest reporting of a so-called leaked climate assessment the New York Times relies on exaggerated statements and false allegations of cover-ups in order to push an agenda.

As for hurricanes, "The projected increase in the intensity of hurricanes in the North Atlantic could increase the probability of extreme coastal flooding along the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coasts beyond what would be projected based exclusively on [relative sea level] rise".
