Now Netflix has announced the season 2 premiere date for The Crown with a new teaser that introduces new characters and announced the December 8 release date.

There's also a few new faces, with Michael C. Hall making his Crown debut as US President John F. Kennedy.

According to Vulture, the second season will also follow the queen as she meets JFK and introduces a love interest for Princess Margaret. The period drama left off in 1955, and Season 2 will pick up not long after. Let your countdown to The Crown Season 2 begin now.

In its second season, #Netflix's most expensive series to date will resume telling the story of Queen Elizabeth's reign on December 8, and the trailer already teases more royal scandals and political crisis for Liz to contend with.

Director Stephen Daldry told Entertainment Weekly that, in the episode featuring the Kennedys, the Queen's "focus is really on this dazzling woman-and not just because of her husband's flirting, but the whole attention on Jackie as a phenomenon". "Not one has lasted the course".
