Jemele Hill's tweets on 'white supremacist' Donald Trump 'inappropriate'

Period, "she wrote in one tweet". The ESPN host has not been fired or suspended, but the sports network did issue a statement disavowing her tweets and claiming Hill "recognizes her actions were inappropriate".

ESPN may not have been ready to take a stand against Trump, but many Twitter users have spoken out in support of Hill. A truth that was deeply explored in a standout piece, "The First White President" by journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates for The Atlantic, days before Hill's comments.

After verbalizing the tweets, David Nakamura of The Washington Post asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders if President Trump was aware of Hills' remarks, and if the White House had a response.

Hill, an African American woman, followed up with this: "His rise is a direct result of white supremacy".

The most memorable response came from Steve Nash.

"If Jemele can say that and Linda can't say what she said, what kind of standard actually exists here?"

Cohn has been a staple of ESPN's Sportscenter, working as an anchor since 1992.

Shorter version: We've already pissed off half our audience, so don't even think we're going to anger the other half by punishing Jemele Hill in any capacity.

"I'm trying to find out with where Queen Jemele told a lie because again - actions speak the loudest..."

ESPN has pushed back against conservative critics, sensitive to accusations it and its personnel infuse politics into coverage in service of a left-leaning agenda.

Meanwhile, outspoken conservative former Major League Baseball star Curt Schilling was sacked from the network for expressing political views on social media. The bill would have required transgender persons to use public restrooms that corresponded to the sex they were assigned at birth. Glad you could live with voting for him. "A man is a man no matter what they call themselves", Schilling wrote in the description of a picture added with the post. I don't know how people who voted for Donald Trump can feel comfortable at all watching ESPN when they know the values that that network espouses and they know how unwelcome their own values are. Now you need laws telling us differently?
