Lauren Wallen, a High School teacher, was missing for nine days before her remains were discovered in a shallow grave in a wooded area of Maryland in the US.

The community first became aware that Wallen was missing when she didn't show up to the first day of school.

Tom Manger, Chief of Montgomery County Police, said at a news conference Wednesday night that Tessier has provided investigators with evidence suggesting his involvement and that it was determined he drove Wallen's auto and removed its front tag.

Police say that Tessier drove Wallen's auto to the apartment complex in Columbia, where the vehicle was later located.

Wallen's sister said she also received what she described as a "troubling" text message from Wallen's phone on September 4.

According to the documents, Wallen texted the woman a week before her disappearance, saying, "It's important that some things are cleared up and I imagine that if you were in my position, you'd want some answers as well".

'Laura, if you are listening, it doesn't matter what's happened, it doesn't matter what type of trouble, there is nothing we can't fix together - myself and your family, ' Tessier said at the conference.

One recalled how Wallen would open wide her arms, wiggling them.

Tessier spoke at a press conference on Tuesday with Wallen's family. Police think those texts were actually sent by Tessier. The worker called the police, who found Wallen's Ford Escape. Today at 5:30 p.m., police arrested Wallen's boyfriend, Tyler Tessier, on the charge of first-degree murder and other related charges.

"This is just one of those tragic cases where you have an absolutely innocent victim and it's just a senseless, senseless killing", Montgomery County police Chief Thomas Manger said. Police said Tessier brought the auto there after removing the front license plate.

Wallen then sent her sister a photo of a field in Demascus.

Wallen's sister received several texts from Laura Wallen's phone on Labor Day-Sept. "I don't know where she is".

Laura Wallen's father, Mark Wallen, said at the news conference, "I wanted to let Laura know that we're out there looking for her and we're not giving up on her", and added that she had been "superexcited" about the school year.

During the search, police said, investigators found tire tracks and freshly dug ground on a nearby property.

Police said a review of surveillance video showed the couple as they made a purchase together. "It's nothing", Tessier said Monday, when he accompanied the family to an event where the Wallens offered a reward for information on her whereabouts.

"And again, this was a calculated decision by the detectives to allow him to speak at the press conference". The property owner has "no involvement" in the investigation, Manger said.
