YouTube Restricts Externally-Linking End Cards (Include Those To Patreon) To Members Of Its Partner Program

The YouTube Partner Program lets creators monetize their content on YouTube. Nintendo gives partners two options: They can broadcast content on YouTube Live from a channel that isn't registered to the program, or they can cancel their channel's registration to the program, and instead register their videos to the program separately.
So with that statement in mind, it would seem that Nintendo has decided that live streaming isn't such a good idea anymore. Today (September 29), Nintendo announced a change in the Nintendo Creators Program that doesn't exactly fix their rough relationship with creators.
Content creators on YouTube have had issues with external links to sites such as Patreon. As such, if you've registered under the Nintendo Creators Program you can not livestream any gameplay from a Nintendo game. It doesn't mean you need to monetize your channel with ads.
While streaming can be a beneficial way for developers to generate interest in their games, not all game makers are keen on seeing streamers or YouTubers make bank on the backs of their releases. Creators can earn money from advertisements served on their videos and from YouTube Red subscribers watching their content. Or, they also suggest that you can register the video individually. They came to Patreon, the micro-sponsorship platform that allows these creators to recover part of that loss, and in the process eliminate monetization on YouTube with a form of "revenge". This is most likely in direct response to the recent controversy regarding certain famous influencers like PewDiePie.
"Thank you for your ongoing support of the Nintendo Creators Program". However, it's also understandable that plenty of video creators are going to be frustrated about this change, especially those who run YouTube channels dedicated to Nintendo games. Its first suggestion is that streamers do so under a separate account that is not registered to the Creators Program.
