Rep. Marsha Blackburn's campaign announcement pulled from Twitter

Twitter Blocks Marsha Blackburn Campaign Announcement Video for 'Inflammatory' Pro-Life Message Twitter Censorship? Site Blocks Video From Republican Over 'Inflammatory' Abortion Comments

Twitter is stopping a Tennessee candidate for U.S. Senate from advertising her campaign announcement video, deeming part of it "inflammatory".

Blackburn said she's astonished that Twitter is fine with people promoting the burning of the American flag or disrespecting the national anthem but censors a political ad promoting a pro-life message.

Blackburn, a self-described "hardcore conservative", is running to replace Sen. "Corker, Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)", who he supports and said is a strong supporter of the president.

Blackburn's almost two-and-a-half minute video also features footage of her shooting a gun and taking fellow Republicans in the Senate to task for failing to repeal ObamaCare. "Yes, I am pro-life and I stand by my message". "Thank God." The unproven allegations against planned parenthood never led to criminal charges, and the group denies any wrongdoing.

She also chaired a House panel investigating the use of fetal tissue for research following the 2015 release of a series of undercover videos targeting Planned Parenthood.

But since Twitter only objected to Blackburn's line evoking "a strong negative reaction", she was able to claim that she is being persecuted for her pro-life views.

It is also worth noting that it is legal to provide fetal tissue to researchers as long as no profit is made, a practice that Planned Parenthood does admit to as it is not illegal and it provides valuable material for research into a number of medical conditions.

Twitter is likely correct that the statement will be found "inflammatory", despite the fact that Blackburn was indeed correct about the abortion industry - her committee discovered evidence of pervasive illegal activity on the part of many abortion clinics and biotech firms. The pro-lifer claims Twitter is censoring her, but the company has said the ad campaign can run without the "body parts" claim. It can be shared by retweet, and since Blackburn's campaign went public with its situation, the video has actually been retweeted more than 15,000 times.

The heavily-edited videos showed Planned Parenthood employees discussing the transfer of tissue from aborted fetuses from the organization to research laboratories. "It's something that people wanted to see shut down". This is the same justification the company has used to block anti-abortion ads before.
