MAROUANE FELLAINI has arrived back in Manchester and began rehab on his knee ligament strain that will keep him out of the blockbuster game against Liverpool.

They face Cyprus in their final World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, while United travel to Anfield on 14 October. We have not lost a league match this season, dropping points only at Stoke with Lukaku leading our charge with seven league goals already.

However, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed the 24-year-old has recovered from the injury and is now "100 per cent fit".

"His injury is not one that I can have the hope like I can have with others", manager Jose Mourinho said prior to the latest update.

According to the Sun, the Frenchman's ongoing hamstring problems are set to rule him out until the hectic festive fixtures, and "key games against Tottenham and Chelsea and, potentially, the Manchester derby at the start of December".

The news comes as a big boost to Manchester United, who face bitter rivals Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, with the Anfield encounter kicking off at 13h30.

Belgium announced shortly after seeing Fellaini laid low that he was facing "a couple of weeks" out, with his setback coming at a bad time for United.

Even without Lukaku and Fellaini, Belgium's squad has good depth, and the attacking quality on offer should be too much for a Cyprus team on a poor run and offering little going forward.

"I don't think the state of the pitch played any part and it was just a collision between two strong players who wanted to win the ball, and unfortunately Marouane ended up with damage in his ligament".

"I have seen a difference in the maturity of Romelu since his move to Manchester United", Martinez admitted, per the Mirror.
