After Richard Branson Investment, It's Now 'Virgin Hyperloop One'

"Virgin is an iconic brand and having Richard as an ally will help strengthen our mission to spread Hyperloop One throughout the world", Pishevar said in a statement.

The startup, which intends to create an ultrafast tube transportation system, was named Virgin Hyperloop One after the announcement of the strategic partnership that allows Branson to join the board of directors.

The British billionaire has announced an investment in Hyperloop One by Virgin Group, which will now be renamed Virgin Hyperloop One.

Virgin Group has invested in Hyperloop One and rebranded the company Virgin Hyperloop One.

In a blog post on Thursday, Branson said: "We're incredibly excited about the technology behind Virgin Hyperloop One and the way it could transform passengers' lives".

The pod floats above the surface of the tube using electromagnets and is gradually accelerated to speeds typically reached by an airliner. The air-tight tubes need to be closer to true vacuum, the maglev acceleration needs to increase which will require more power, and protecting hyperloop tracks from environmental factors such as earthquakes is still a major concern.

Richard Branson is jumping on the Hyperloop train, the transport concept which could reduce the time it takes to travel between London and Edinburgh to just 50 minutes.

"Ever since our creation, Virgin has been known for disruption and investing in innovative companies". "I was very impressed and now look forward to helping turn this cutting edge engineering into a global passenger service".

Before we can fly through vacuum tubes at almost the speed of sound, however, hyperloop technologies will need to advance quite a bit. "From our airlines to our trains to our spaceline, we have always been passionate about innovation in transport too, especially the development of technology that could transform people's lives".

Meanwhile, Musk is now working part-time on a similar project, called The Boring Company.
