According to a tweet from the airline, AY666 will take to the skies 15 more times before being retired due to expansion.

National airline Finnair announced Friday that its notorious Friday 13th flight AY 666 from Copenhagen to HEL (Helsinki) completed its last flight on Friday 13 October. The airline said that in the past 11 years it had flown AY666 to HEL 21 times on Friday the 13th, tweetin, g "Farewell to Finnair AY666". It's the story of Finnair Flight 666, which traversed its daily route from Copenhagen, Denmark to Helsinki, Finland (airport code: HEL).

It still operates a regular flight from Singapore's Changi Airport to Helsinki, meaning you can still go to HEL via SIN.

The airline spokesperson also explained the reason for retiring the ominous flight number. Pilot Juha-Pekka Keidasto said, "It has been quite a joke among the pilots".

The flight has fallen on Friday the 13th 21 times over its 11-year history, apparently never once sidetracking into the Twilight Zone or a biblical apocalypse. "It's only a coincidence for me".

The final destination for passengers on this Friday the 13th flight is HEL.
