On Thursday, the 2nd Circuit denied Elliott's motion, reinstating the Dallas Cowboys running back's six-game suspension that has been playing out in the legal system throughout the season.

Although Elliott faced no criminal charges from the case, the NFL probe found him to have been in breach of the league's personal conduct policy.

Still, here was are in November and Elliott has yet to miss a single game through the first nine weeks of the regular season. He will miss his team's Week 13 matchup against the Redskins.

So, Elliott will nearly certainly miss that contest and many experts expect he'll serve the six-game suspension in full after this ruling.

A series of injunctions and restraining orders have allowed Elliott to play to this point, but a three-judge panel decided against yet another injunction, meaning he is not now eligible to return until the Cowboys' December 24 clash with the Seattle Seahawks.

Elliott is averaging 19.9 FanDuel points in eight games this season while rushing 191 times for 783 yards and 7 touchdowns with 19 receptions for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns on 26 targets. If there are no further interruptions, Elliott will be out until Week 16. But the Cowboys as a whole will have to lift the level of their play if they want to catch the soaring Eagles, who now have a three game lead on Dallas in the NFC East.
