The paper denounced the USA president's Asia trip as "a warmonger's trip for confrontation with the North", "an old miser's trip to sell arms", and "a chief terrorist's trip for self-destruction".

He called on nations to stop financing and trading with North Korea.

"The weapons you are acquiring are not making you safer, they are putting your regime in grave danger", Trump said about North Korea during an address at South Korea's National Assembly in Seoul earlier this week.

South Korea will join three USA aircraft carrier strike groups in a joint drill scheduled for November 11 to 14, the South's military said on Friday.

This comes as Trump said on Thursday that he wants Russia's help in getting North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons.

The exercises will also involve 11 US Aegis ships and seven South Korean naval vessels, including two Aegis ships.

"His current trip to our surrounding region is a warmonger's visit for confrontation to rid the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) of its self-defensive nuclear deterrence", North Korea's Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on the state media, Korean Central News Agency. The Aegis technology refers to missile tracking and guidance. The U.S. carriers will also participate in separate exercises with three Japanese destroyers on Sunday, according to Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force.

The Pentagon said on Wednesday the drill involving three aircraft carrier strike groups in the Western Pacific would be carried out for the first time in a decade, confirming a Reuters report.

The United States has been sending its strategic assets, also including long-range bombers, to the region more frequently for patrols or drills amid accelerating North Korean efforts to expand its nuclear weapons program.

Seoul and Washington have recently carried out a series of drills to show off their military heft in response to the North's saber-rattling, such as its sixth and most powerful nuclear test on September 3 and a series of missile launches.

It has repeatedly threatened to launch ballistic missiles into the waters around the US territory of Guam.

Ever since US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's feud broke out in public, barbs have been exchanged nearly regularly between the two nations.
