Davis received his second technical foul of the game and was subsequently ejected with 4:11 remaining in the second quarter of the Pelicans' 120-102 loss to Minnesota in New Orleans. The play went on for almost 20 seconds as Davis lay on the floor, clutching the left side of his midsection.

It's possible Davis previously injured himself on this play, though. The New Orleans Pelicans' superstar suffered a non-contact injury during the team's game against the Utah Jazz, which left him rolling around on the ground in serious pain.

Minnesota responded by finishing the half on a 17-6 run to take a 62-49 lead into the halftime locker room. Davis had to be helped off the court and did not return.

Davis tallied a team-best 19 points and 10 rebounds in his first 32 minutes, before being forced out of the game.

The four-time All-Star has been somewhat injury plagued throughout his National Basketball Association career, though he played in a career-high 75 games just last season. Any extended absence will put a lot of pressure on his teammates to maintain their 11-10 start, which now would make the Pelicans the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
